2023 S3 CrossFit Games Competition

Test your team's  Strength , Speed , and Stamina at the 2023 S3 CrossFit Games!

Every year S3 holds multiple events throughout the year with each event being intentional, which includes a lot of thought, timing, and overall planning.  Each one is different, including non-profit events to competition events, with each event hosting a unique challenge to the athletes. The S3 CrossFit Games gives our community an opportunity to get together in a friendly and competitive environment, while testing ourselves with the encouragement of our teammates.

Like the CrossFit Open earlier this year, this 5-event test is set to challenge athletes for the hard work that's been invested throughout the year within the S3 and CrossFit communities. 

The 2023 S3 CrossFit Games is a 3-person team competition with 4 divisions: Women Rx, Men Rx, Women Modified, & Men Modified.  This 5-event test will consist of 1  Strength event, 2 Speed events, and 2 Stamina events.  The top 4 teams from each division will advance to the final event - CHAOS!

The S3 Games is a 1-day competition that will be fast paced starting at 8a with finals around 2p.

Master’s Athletes Although there will not be a separate master’s division, master’s athletes are encouraged to participate and may be part of an Rx or modified team. These athletes will have modifications to movements & weights.  The age for women master’s athletes is 40+ years of age and the age for men master’s athletes is 45+ years of age.  A team may be comprised of 1, 2, or 3 master’s athletes.

Women Rx will have the ability to add master’s athletes to the team.  Intermediate to experienced level athletes are recommended for the Rx division.

Women Modified will have the ability to add master’s athletes to the team.  New to beginner level athletes are recommended for the modified division.

Men Rx will have the ability to add master’s athletes to the team.  Intermediate to experienced level athletes are recommended for the Rx division.

Men Modified  will have the ability to add master’s athletes to the team.  New to beginner level athletes are recommended for the modified division.

The S3 CrossFit Games is not a fundraising event, but any proceeds after expenses will be reinvested back into S3 to update equipment.

The S3 Games will consist of 5 events:

Event 1: STAMINA
Rx Division (Team of 3)
10-minute time cap
60/50 calorie echo bike
40 power clean and jerk 155/85# (master’s 115/65#)
20 rope climbs at 15’ (master’s 12’)
*one partner must be holding two kettlebells* 24/16kg

Modified Division (Team of 3)
10-minute time cap
50/40 calorie echo bike
40 power clean and jerk 95/55# (master’s 75/45#)
30 lying rope pulls from floor
*one partner must be holding two kettlebells* 16/12kg

Event 2: SPEED
Rx Division (Team of 3)
6-minute time cap

3 round relay – each teammate completes 1 round
15/12 calorie bike erg
15 burpee box jump over 24/20” (master’s 20/16”)
15 DB thrusters 50/35# (master’s 40/25#)

Modified Division (Team of 3)
6-minute time cap
3 round relay – each teammate completes 1 round
15/12 calorie bike erg
15 burpee box jump over 20/16” (master’s 16/12”)
15 DB thrusters 35/20# (master’s 30/15#)

Event 3: STAMINA
Rx Division (Team of 3)
10-minute ascending AMRAP (as many reps as possible)
3-6-9-12-15-18-21 etc.
Wall ball 20/14# (master’s 14/10#)
Toes to bar
Cal ski erg
*one partner must be hanging from the rig*

Modified Division (Team of 3)
10-minute ascending AMRAP (as many reps as possible)
3-6-9-12-15-18-21 etc.
Wall ball 14/10# (master’s 14/10# to 9’/8’ target)
Knees to chest
Cal ski erg
*one partner must be hanging from the rig*

Event 4: SPEED
Rx Division (Team of 3)
7-minute time cap
Buy-in: 450m team shuttle run relay
-then-
90 front rack stationary lunges 95/55# (master’s 75/45#)
90 hang power snatch 95/55# (master’s 75/45#)

Modified Division (Team of 3)
7-minute time cap
Buy-in: 450m team shuttle run relay
-then-
90 front rack stationary lunges 75/45# (master’s 65/35#)
90 hang power snatch 75/45# (master’s 65/35#)

Event 5: STRENGTH
Rx Division (Team of 3)
10 minutes to find a 3 rep max
Find a 3rm overhead squat
Find a 3rm jerk
Find a 3rm hang clean
*Each teammate declares one lift and each lift must be completed

Modified Division (Team of 3)
10 minutes to find a 3 rep max
Find a 3rm overhead squat
Find a 3rm jerk
Find a 3rm hang clean
*Each teammate declares one lift and each lift must be completed

Final Event: CHAOS
The top 4 teams from each division will advance to the final event: CHAOS
Athletes will be given the movements and have 15 minutes to prepare. The rep scheme will not be known until each movement has been completed during the event.

Each athlete will receive an athlete bag consisting of a T-shirt and other goodies!

  • Yes! We will coordinate your volunteering/judging around your heat times

Can I have a teammate that is not a member at S3?

  • Yes! We welcome anyone from outside S3 CrossFit. Find a friend, a neighbor, or another CrossFit affiliate athlete.
