Our S3 Team

All of our trainers are CrossFit certified, which means they’ve been trained in the fundamental principles and movements of CrossFit. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to get fit at the right pace, while maintaining your safety.

Matt started his CrossFit journey in January 2013 at Iron Forged Athletics in Fayetteville, NC. He attended Bob Jones university, graduating with his degree in exercise science in 2011. He has had an amazing opportunity to work at many CrossFit gyms, adding experience and knowledge to his resume. Specializations  CrossFit Gymnastics  With a background in gymnastics, Becky has a passion for applying her experience to helping you develop better gymnastic skills and a strong core to improve your overall CrossFit ability. She isn't afraid to have some fun in her classes by using more "unconventional" training methods.

Kate has been doing CrossFit as an athlete for three years. Prior to finding the barbell, she was a runner who raced full and half marathons, and before that played soccer year-round for about 15 years, including playing competitive club soccer in college. Essentially, Kate has been a fan of fitness her whole life.

Kate has years of experience training both adults and children in some capacity, whether in CrossFit, boot camps or soccer. As an athlete, she loves participating in local CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting competitions. When she is not doing fitness, she can be found with her husband and children, or alone, enjoying a glass of wine and peace and quiet.

Michael is a 10 year Army veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division and four-time Iraq Campaign veteran. He is currently a Charlotte Firefighter/EMT and Tactical Medic who enjoys bringing a no-nonsense approach to his coaching at S3.
