The Shootout at S3

  • The Shootout at S3 is an elimination style event

  • The Shootout at S3 is a partner workout with 6 divisions:

o  Rx – Male/Male and Female/Female

o  Masters (40 and older) – Male/Male and Female/Female

o  Scaled – Male/Male and Female/Female 

  • There are 3 guaranteed workouts per team:  STRENGTH, SPEED, & STAMINA

  • After 3 events, the top 6 teams move on to event 4

  • After 4 events, the top 3 teams move on to the final event

  • Total points after the 5th event will determine the winner of each division

  • The top score/best time of each event will receive the highest allowed points for that round

  •  Points will be cumulatively added for each round

  • Events 1-3 will each carry the same weighted value

  • Event 4 will have a 2x point value

  • Event 5 will have a 3x point value 

The first 3 workouts 

o  STRENGTH:  1RM Snatch, 1RM Clean

o  Athlete #1 finds their 1 rep max snatch in 3 minutes

o  Transition time of 1 minute

o  Athlete #2 finds their 1 rep max clean in 3 minutes

§  1 Rep Max Snatch – Athlete 1

·      Any style of snatch is acceptable as long as the bar moves from floor to overhead in one motion without touching any part of the head.  Acceptable examples:  muscle, power, squat

·      3 minutes to find 1 rep max

§  1 Rep Max Clean – Athlete 2

·      Full Clean, Power Clean, or Muscle Clean acceptable

·      3 minutes to find 1 rep max

o  SPEED:  4 Rounds for Time: 50M Sled Push, 250M Bike Erg

§ Athlete 1 completes Rounds 1 and 3

§ Athlete 2 completes Rounds 2 and 4

§  4 Minute time cap

§ Rx Sled: 180/135#

§ Masters Sled: 160/115#

§ Scaled Sled: 135/90#

o  STAMINA:  50 Cal Ski Erg, 30 Devil Presses, 150 Double Unders, 30 Burpee Box Jumps, 50 Cal Row

§ 12 Minute time cap

§ Athletes may split reps however they see fit

§ Athletes must tag in and out from starting box

§ Standards on devil presses – must be a snatch movement

§ Athletes may face or lateral to box

§ Rx:  35/25# DB, 24/20” Box

§ Masters: 30/20# DB, 24/20” Box

§ Scaled: 25/15# DB, 20/16” Box
